Walter F. Mondale's career in public service has spanned some of the most dramatic events in our nation's history. Since 1948 he has been at history's center, first as a young campaign organizer, then as Minnesota attorney general, U.S. Senator, vice president, presidential nominee, and U.S. ambassador to Japan.
