The Institute is widely recognized for its role in examining public issues and shaping public policy at the local, state, national, and international levels, and for providing leadership and management expertise to public and nonprofit organizations.
Employment responsibilities:
The Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs continually accepts nominations of and applications from individuals for teaching positions that may open during the academic year or summer session. All applications are reviewed as openings occur and individual applicants are invited to interview when their skills or areas of expertise match a specific opening.
These often are temporary positions of no more than three to six months in duration. Appointments may be for varying percentages of time between 0% and 74% time, or for one-time, lump-sum payments. Under extraordinary circumstances, subject to the dean's approval, an individual may be hired via this posting for percentages between 75% and 100%. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and availability of funding and will be negotiated at the time of hire. All hires will be made on an annually renewable basis as "Lecturer" or "Teaching Specialist." Renewals will be contingent upon satisfactory performance, continued availability of funding, and consistency with the Humphrey Institute's mission and program priorities.
Essential qualifications:
Academic: Earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree required for appointment as lecturer. Master's degree required for appointment as teaching specialist.
Experience - Relevant previous teaching experience. Additional qualifications may be added for specific position openings.
