Employment responsibilities:

Associate Dean / Faculty
Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs
University of Minnesota

The Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota seeks nominations and applications for an Associate Dean, a professional and administrative position. The person in this position will also hold a tenured faculty position, and play a leadership role in academics and research at the Humphrey Institute.

As the chief academic officer at the Institute, the associate dean provides leadership in the development of graduate degree programs offered by the Institute. S/he collaborates and coordinates with the director of graduate studies, faculty, and fellows to strengthen the for-credit degree programs. The associate dean provides leadership in the development and enforcement of policies and guidelines governing the instructional programs at the Institute and the management of all non-sponsored activities of the faculty, fellows, and staff.

As the college's chief research officer, the associate dean provides leadership in the management of research activities and oversight of Institute Areas, centers and outreach programs. The associate dean provides leadership in the development and enforcement of policies and guidelines governing the research and Area-based activities at the Institute and the management of all sponsored activities of the faculty, fellows, and staff, in coordination with appropriate staff in the financial services office, the dean's office, and the Area chairs. The associate dean performs other administrative duties that arise in the dean's office and the Institute, and represents the dean and the college within and outside the University as appropriate.

The University seeks to achieve diversity in its faculty, staff, and student body and welcomes and encourages nominations of persons from historically underrepresented groups.
