Center on Women and Public Policy

About Us

Welcome to the nation's first complete teaching, research, and outreach center devoted to women and public policy. Since 1985, the Center on Women and Public Policy (CWPP) has used gender analysis to challenge fundamental assumptions about politics, law, and economics on issues ranging from human rights to judicial selection and independence.

Education

The program prepares future policymakers, researchers, and community activists to ask questions, challenge basic gender assumptions, and bring women from the margins to the center in public affairs.

U of MN Women, Law, & Public Policy Directory

The Center has created and nurtured an interdisciplinary community of scholars on the University of Minnesota campus interested in women, law, and public policy. This directory is to help graduates students to benefit from this strong intellectual community and to foster yet closer connections among scholars.

Women & Public Policy Case Studies

The Center embarked on a project to produce case studies with feminist perspectives in the summer of 2000, pulling together scholars, activists, and Extension educators from many different disciplinary backgrounds.

Feminist Internships

Through national and international feminist internships, students learn about the challenges and opportunities facing women around the world. The Center annually awards internship grants to Humphrey students who wish to take feminist internships.

The University of Minnesota is an equal opportunity educator and employer.
