The International Fellowship
Programs (IFP) hosts Fellows that come from diverse educational and cultural
backgrounds. Areas of interest include science, business and management,
education, engineering, foreign affairs, government, law, mass communications,
medicine, public health, agriculture and social work. The IFP office provides
Fellows with opportunities that blend a strong intellectual base with
academic courses and research, and that of public service and intercultural
understanding and include agricultural cooperation. We also link Fellows
to key people and resources throughout the University and the community-at-large.
Fellows themselves serve as invaluable resources to educators, community
leaders, professional groups, students and many others.
Over the twenty-five years of the program, the IFP has hosted many fellowship
programs. This year, the IFP is the home to three separate fellowship
opportunities, each with their own goals and objectives. They are the
Hubert H. Humphrey International Fellowship Programs, Edmund S. Muskie
Fellowship, U. K. Fulbright Fellowship for Civil Service. Although
there are significant differences between each program, there are also
similarities in which to build an overall program that benefits each Fellow
and fosters a long-lasting and productive relationship with each other,
the University and the community.
