Thomas H. Swain Fellowship in Public Leadership

Friends and colleagues of Minnesota leader Tom Swain call him “a model for our times and for generations to come.” To honor this public servant’s 80th birthday, they established the Thomas H. Swain Fellowship in Public Leadership at the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs. The scholarship is awarded to students entering the Master of Public Affairs program who intend to study civic engagement or public leadership.

This year marks the 5^th anniversary of the Thomas H. Swain Fellowship and its lasting impact on the on the lives of exceptional leaders in Minnesota. To commemorate this landmark we are launching an effort to provide the opportunity for another exceptional leader to study at one of the top public affairs schools in the nation each year.
